Cinemash of Dirty Dancing

I seriously hate Channing Tatum, but I have to admit he was mildly amusing in this. Check out the Tatum and Charlyne Yi’s Cinemash of the not so classic Dirty Dancing.

Trailer For The Coen Brothers’ New Comedy A Serious Man

0coen

Is this going to be better than the barely mediocre Burn After Reading? It doesn’t matter. I will fork over money every time these guys make a movie because they’ve rarely let me down.
A Serious Man is a black comedy set in 1967 and centered on on Larry Gopnik (Michael Stuhlbarg), a Midwestern professor who watches his life unravel when his wife prepares to leave him because his inept brother (Richard Kind) won’t move out of the house.

Trailer For Strigoi A Vampire Comedy

0strigoi_poster

The genre of zombedy has been beaten to virtual undeath. (Sorry had to be done) With the impending release of Zombieland (which I’m still lukewarm on) it’s nice to see someone taking a stab at spoofing another genre staple – vampires. Writer/Director Faye Jackson’s Strigoi is the story of Vlad, a good boy, who investigates a mysterious death in his grandfather’s village that raises questions about land ownership in the community. The trail points to ex-communist bully Constantin Tirescu and his wife, but when Vlad confronts them, he discovers that the richest landowners in the village have become real bloodsuckers. That makes two bloodsucking comedies I’m looking forward to this year! The other being the french Teeth of the Night (Vampire Party). Strigoi has no release date as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted. Until then, check out the trailer below and the films official site here.

Jason Eisener, who gave us the hilarious faux exploitation trailer Hobo With a Shotgun, is back with the obnoxiously over the top and downright hysterical Treevenge! Treevenge made rounds at a number of festivals garnering guffaws and critical acclaim, and now it’s here for your NSFW viewing pleasure. Thanks to the good folks at Twitch for hosting this absolutely amazing film. A word of warning: If you are adverse to gore, have a weak stomach, or are easily offended stay clear. Otherwise enjoy the absolutely silly, splattery goodness below. Remember it’s NSFW.

Trailer For The Perversely Funny Taxidermia

1tax
Taxidermia is Gyorgy Palfi’s grotesque tale of three generations of men, including an obese speed eater, an embalmer of gigantic cats, and a man who shoots fire out of his penis. Seriously. Do I even need to say anything else? This austrian flick has garnered positive buzz after hitting a slew of festivals over the last 3 years, and will get a limited stateside release on July 17th. I’m crossing my fingers we see it here in DC. What do you think? Anyone else want to see this?

Trailer For Patton Oswalt’s Dramatic Debut Big Fan

1big_fan
Big Fan is the darkly funny story of Paul Afiero (Patton Oswalt), a hardcore New York Giants fan whose chance encounter with his idol unexpectedly ends in violence. It’s also the directorial debut of The Wrestler scribe Robert D Siegel. All signs point to awesomeness. Check out the trailer below and leave me some damn comments.

Stephen Soderbergh Leaves Oceans Behind To Bring Us
The Informant

1inf
Stephen Soderbergh (Oceans Trilogy, The Underneath, Che) is one fantastic filmmaker. I’m not
sure how I feel about the Oceans sequels, but I love the rest of his body of work. It was a nice
surprise to see that The Informant, which I thought was going to be a corporate thriller/drama is
actually a comedy. And damn if it doesn’t look life a funny one. In The Informant the U.S.
government decides to go after an agri-business giant with a price-fixing accusation, based
on the evidence submitted by their star witness, vice president turned informant Mark
Whitacre (Matt Damon). The cast also includes Scott Bakula, Patton Oswalt, Candy Clark,
Joel McHale, and Frank Welker. It’s nice to see Bakula back on the big screen. Check out
the trailer below.

*Welker has worked in nearly 600 projects since 1967, including being the voice of
Megatron in 44 episodes of The Transformers animated series.
