Archive for December, 2008The Good, The Bad, and The WeirdI’ve just had the pleasure of watching Ji-Woon Kim’s ultra-violent western The Good, The Bad and The Weird. I can’t recommend it enough. The film is full of inspired action sequences, clever homages, and some downright ridiculous moments. The film’s official US release date via IFC films is February 6th 2009. It’s unclear yet if IFC will offer it as part of their on-demand library or not. Either way, rush to the theater to see this movie. It’s without a doubt in my top 10 of 2008. If you haven’t already seen the trailer. Check it out below. This movie kicks so much ass that if any of you wanted to see it early I might able to be persuaded into a viewing party. |

Archive for December, 2008Necromentia TrailerI didn’t see Pearry Teo’s The Gene Generation, but after seeing the trailer for Necromentia I might have to. I know it’s not going to be a good movie. It’s going to be awful. But damnit I’m pretty sure I’ll find some entertainment value in it. There’s just something about that guy wearing a pigs head that makes me laugh. Enjoy! |

Archive for December, 2008Mutants Teaser Finally!!!It seems that lately France is where it’s at if you’re looking for good horror. With recent releases like Fronitere(s), ILS, Inside, and Martyrs it’s hard to dispute that. After seeing the trailer for David Morlet’s Mutants I’m pretty psyched that we may have another film to add to that list. The film tracks a young couple as a viral outbreak turns the people around them into a swarm of bloodthirsty mutants. Sounds like a winner to me. Check out the trailer and let me know what you think. |

Archive for December, 2008Just for Laughs. Against the Dark Trailer Seagal Vs. Vampires!!!Yes this is going to be bad. But the trailer is worth watching if you need a good laugh. Seagal also has is own reality series Steven Seagal: Lawman starting on A&E very soon. Apparently Seagal has been working as an official deputy of the Jefferson Parrish Police Department for the last 20 years under the radar and has just recently decided to work with A&E. Sounds like bullshit to me, but I’ll tune in for at least one episode for a good chuckle. Does anyone else think that Seagal should at least get a cameo in Stallone’s The Expendables? |

Archive for December, 2008Wolverine: Origins TrailerMost of you have seen this already, but just in case here is the trailer for the upcoming Wolverine: Origins. I was excited about this film until I actually watched the trailer. Does this trailer disappoint any one else? Question: Does anyone else think Gambit’s costume makes him look like a low rent professional wrestler? |

Archive for December, 2008Paris By Night of the Living Dead: Promo ReelGregory Morin’s first full length effort horror/action Paris By Night of the Living Dead looks a little too ridiculous to pass up. The mixture of CG blood and the real gooey stuff makes me giggle like a schoolgirl. The release date is set for the first quarter of 2009. Hopefully some smart distribution company will snag the rights to this and give at least a small US theater release. If you have a facebook page account you can become a fan of this movie here. |

Archive for December, 2008District B13: Ultimatum TrailerIf you haven’t seen the first District B13 (Banlieue 13) I highly recommend watching it. It’s chock full of senseless violence and incredible stunt choreography. The trailer for the film’s sequel, Ultimatum, looks like it will be more of the same. Ultimatum is written by Luc Besson and Directed by Patrick Alessandrin. Director Alessandrin is generally known for comedy, and I had some doubt that he could pull off an action flick. The trailer made me a bit more confident. Enjoy the goodness below. |

Archive for December, 2008Terminator Salvation: TrailerThe Teaser trailer for this film just about made me pretty happy. I’m still on the fence about this McG fellow, but think it’s his name that really kills me. The new extended trailer for Salvation (below) has me convinced that this might actually be a good film. Does anyone else absolutely hate his name? |

Archive for December, 2008Back from a Long Hiatus with They Live Remake News.Sorry for the long delay, but it’s been a busy busy week over here. Today is a sad day. I’m a very big fan of John Carpenter’s work. Especially his cheesefest They Live. Universal and Strike entertainment have recently acquired the rights to remake the film leaving geeks like me everywhere furious. I understand that They Live is a flawed film, but that’s what makes it so great. It’s a big silly mish mash of genres that’s just damned entertaining. A director or writer have not yet been attached, but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time. I’ll keep you posted. Until then enjoy this kick-ass scene from the original. |
