I reported earlier that Mark Steven Johnson’s HBO series adaptation of the kick-ass comic book Preacher had been laid to waste. It was a good day that day, and it just keeps getting better. Sam Mendes (Road to Perdition, American Beauty) has picked up the pieces and decided to make Preacher into a feature film. While Mendes and producer Neal Moritz are looking for the proper scribe may I suggest that Josh Brolin be considered to play the title role. Pretty Please?

   I don’t care that Mendez is a better choice, this project’s only hope of being good was being a mini-series, not a damn movie.

   It was better off dead.
